Advocacy Training & Awareness on Girls’ Education

Challenge

In many countries, including Pakistan, many girls miss out on the opportunity to receive an education. For this reason, advocacy is a crucial step in empowering girls to pursue the education and careers they want.

Approach

IRD conducted Girl Advocate Guide training in collaboration with the Malala Fund to spread awareness on girls’ education. Utilizing the KS model, trainings were conducted in 2 schools in Karachi using the Girl Advocate Guide curriculum.

Impact

502 Kiran Sitaras received Girl Guide Advocacy training as part of a collaborative effort with the Malala Fund from 2 schools in Karachi.
Out of those trained, 313 girls (62%) found the guide to be useful. More importantly, 411 girls (82.2%) of the sample, claimed that the guide had changed their views on girls’ education.
