JOb Purpose
The role spans IRD’s integrated service delivery projects covering tuberculosis, chronic respiratory diseases, and other non-communicable diseases, including mental health.
• Study Coordination (70%): Lead day-to-day research activities for a multi-center study, including participant recruitment, site engagement, training, and supervision of field teams, ensuring high-quality data collection, adherence to study protocols, and smooth study implementation.
• M&E and Implementation Research (30%)– Supportive Role: Provide supportive input for routine data quality audits across sites as needed. Assist in implementation research activities and contribute to the interpretation of findings, ensuring they inform program adaptation and learning.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Study Coordination (70%):
- Lead day-to-day study operations: Coordinate all aspects of a multi-center research study, ensuring adherence to study protocols, ethical standards, and project timelines. Monitor site-level implementation to maintain quality and consistency across all participating sites.
- Participant engagement and site oversight: Oversee participant recruitment and retention strategies, manage site engagement activities, and ensure smooth workflow for all field-based activities. Provide training, mentorship, and supervision to field teams, fostering capacity building and adherence to standard operating procedures.
- Data management and quality assurance: Supervise data collection, entry, cleaning, and validation processes to ensure integrity, completeness, and timeliness of study data. Implement routine quality checks and coordinate resolution of data discrepancies across multiple sites.
- Technical coordination with research partners: Engage with the Study PI, Co-PIs, and academic/research partners for technical guidance and advisory input periodically during study implementation.
- Cross-functional collaboration: Work closely with program managers, clinical and laboratory leads, and operations teams to integrate research activities into broader program implementation, ensuring alignment between study objectives and program goals.
- Knowledge translation and dissemination: Support the analysis and interpretation of study data, and contribute to the preparation of manuscripts, scientific abstracts, policy briefs, presentations, and other dissemination outputs to ensure study results inform both internal program decisions and external audiences.
M&E and Implementation Research (30%) – Supportive Role:
- Provide support for routine data quality audits across sites as needed.
- Assist in implementation research and support the team in integrating quantitative and qualitative data insights into ongoing program activities.
- Contribute to donor reports, abstracts, and manuscripts that highlight program evidence and innovation.
