JOb Purpose

The Community Health Worker (CHW) will support community-level project activities by implementing assigned procedures with accuracy, attention to detail, and adherence to approved quality standards and study protocols. The role includes participant recruitment, screening, data collection, and patient registration in line with study requirements. In addition, the CHW will actively facilitate linkage to care by ensuring that screened or identified participants are appropriately guided and connected to relevant diagnostic, treatment, and follow-up services as per project protocols.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Complete training on all assigned activities, procedures, and SOPs.
  • Conduct participant recruitment and screening in accordance with the study protocol and eligibility criteria.
  • Record participant data and results accurately in forms, registers, or digital data collection tools.
  • Ensure timely and complete documentation of all the project activities.
  • Maintain confidentiality and secure handling of participant information.
  • Coordinate with project teams and facility staff to ensure timely follow-up, referral, and treatment initiation.
  • Support documentation of linkage outcomes and communicate any delays or barriers.
  • Assist in tracking participants who require additional testing or who miss appointments.
  • Provide daily/weekly activity updates to supervisors as required.
  • Support logistics, supply management, and stock monitoring for consumables and materials.
  • Support planning, implementation, and monitoring of project-related activities as required.
  • Perform field-related duties and support other team members of the team when required.
  • Participate in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement activities.
  • Attend regular staff meetings.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the line manager to support overall study and program objectives.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES (KSA)

Required Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field

Required Experience

  • At least 2–3 years of relevant experience in community health, public health, or project-based field work.

  • Basic Data entry skills
  • Self-motivated, a fast learner who is ready to hit the ground running
  • Organized and detail-oriented, and problem solver with an elevated level of curiosity and who is an independent thinker
  • Good listener and maintains accountability for their actions
  • Ability to work independently and under tight timelines
  • Proactive in completing tasks and identifying gaps and needs

  • Available for local travel as needed
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills
  • Time Management and Organization skills
  • Fluency in Sindhi, Siraeki and Urdu language strongly recommended and basic understanding of English
