REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS (RFP) 

Independent Impact Evaluation Firm/Institution: Kuyakhanya Programme – South Africa 

IRD Global invites proposals from accredited research institutions, universities, and evaluation firms with demonstrated expertise in impact evaluation in integrated Early Childhood Development (ECD) to conduct an independent evaluation of the Kuyakhanya Programme in South Africa. 

About the Kuyakhanya Program 

Kuyakhanya (meaning “there is light” in isiZulu) is an integrated Early Childhood Development initiative implemented through a hub-and-spoke model in rural South Africa. The programme combines play-based early learning, caregiver mental health support, nutrition, and community engagement to strengthen ecosystems of care for children aged birth to five years. 

Following early implementation across multiple districts in KwaZulu-Natal, IRD Global seeks a qualified independent impact evaluation firm/institution to design and implement a rigorous, context-appropriate, longitudinal impact evaluation aligned with South Africa’s ECD 2030 Strategy and the Nurturing Care Framework.

Scope of Work 

The selected evaluator will design and implement an independent, context-appropriate impact evaluation of the Kuyakhanya Programme. Detailed scope, phased structure, and deliverables are outlined in the full RfP document.
