Immunization

IRD’s Immunization Program strengthens routine immunization systems to ensure every child receives life-saving vaccines on time. In Pakistan, routine immunization coverage remains uneven: recent WHO/UNICEF estimates show that Pakistan has hundreds of thousands of zero-dose children and nearly one million children who are under- or un-vaccinated, with significant variation across regions – highlighting gaps in reach and equity.

Through digital registries, mobile outreach, incentive-based approaches, and pregnancy-to-newborn linkage, IRD helps governments improve coverage, reduce dropouts, and reach zero-dose and under-served children. By enhancing data quality, service delivery, and caregiver engagement, IRD supports national efforts to close immunization gaps and prevent vaccine-preventable diseases at scale
