JOb Purpose

The incumbent will be responsible for managing and providing technical support to the program team in planning, hiring, training, implementing, monitoring and supervising the program. Provide strategic guidance to team in ways that promote the company’s culture and oversee the progress of the operations. He/she will also develop efficient strategies and tactics while managing staff of different disciplines to produce results in a timely manner.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure program implementation and grant management is in line with approved work plan
  • Building strategic partnerships with provincial and district health departments for effective implementation
  • Undertake regular government engagement and liaison with external partners
  • Attend all progress calls with donor and present program updates and incorporate donor feedback for the program in a timely and efficient manner
  • Supervise all project staff ensuring coordination between field team and relevant managers
  • Prepare required progress reports (financial and narratives)
  • Work closely with program team with regular check ins
  • Conduct field visits for monitoring implementation and addressing challenges
  • Supervise, provide technical feedback and manage project team for timely completion of work plans in-line with contractual donor obligations and Planning, Monitoring & Evaluation (PME) framework
  • Set up the M&E system and ensure it is implemented effectively at all levels
  • Perform project reviews, participatory impact assessments and process monitoring
  • Participate in concept note development in line with future expansion of the project and to support program team
  • Review monitoring reports and monthly data packs; analyze them for impact evaluation and to identify the causes of potential bottlenecks in project implementation
  • Plan for regular opportunities to identify lessons learned and implications for the project’s next steps
  • Participate in relevant partner events to strengthen stakeholder engagement
  • Assist with grant writing and prepare feasible and well-informed project concepts including work plans, budgets, staff hiring with respect to donor TORs and RFPs.
  • Conduct statistical data analysis to help support project strategic direction

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES (KSA)

Required Qualification

  • Masters degree(s) in Public Health, Social Science, Epidemiology, International Development or other relevant field

Required Experience

  • More than 8 Years’ Experience in implementing and monitoring large scale public health projects
  • Experience of project management in Public Health

Required Skills

  • Good supervisory and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate projects independently and work as part of a team
  • Good leadership qualities to lead/supervise/develop a multi-disciplinary team
  • Proficient in inclusive planning, budgeting and participatory management skills including excellent analysis, drafting and report writing skills
  • Strong administrative skills and self-motivated with the ability to set priorities and manage multiple tasks under minimal supervision and ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Strong Data Analysis Skills and proficiency on STATA preferred
  • Donor Orientation - Take personal responsibility and accountability for timely response to donor queries, requests or needs
  • Precision, attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines
