JOb Purpose

The incumbent will develop and maintain relationships with key community stakeholders at selected sites. He/She will collect community-level data, conduct awareness sessions, work with trained Early Childhood Development (ECD) lay practitioners to collect routine programmatic data and work with other key program team members and the nutrition team to ensure the smooth delivery of programmatic services within the community.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct field visits daily at ECD outreach sites to help administratively manage teams and collect routine programmatic data.
  • Utilize community engagement approaches to establish and maintain relationships with communities and other local key stakeholders such as local chief representatives, ward counselors, religious leaders etc.
  • Mobilize communities and caregivers to participate and attend key ECD awareness sessions, co-creation activities and other important sessions at the playhouse.
  • Conduct ECD/Playhouse awareness sessions when required.
  • Manage daily project-specific tasks and targets as delegated by Field Coordinator.
  • Document all community engagement work in the shared tools and reporting formats according to the submission deadlines.
  • Coordinate with mental health, playhouse staff and nutrition teams to coordinate key playhouse
    services.
  • Troubleshoot and support peers in field implementation activities
  • Take pictures/videos to be shared on social media campaigns
  • Any ad-hoc project as assigned

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES (KSA)

Required Qualification

  • Minimum Matriculation.

Required Experience

  • At least 1 - 2 years of relevant experience in the field, especially in the Education sector.

Required Skills

  • Must be able to speak English and the local language of the community (IsiZulu)
  • Work as an integrated member of the IRD SA Project team.
  • Ability to speak local community languages.
  • Ability to work with online screening tools and mobile applications.
  • Knowledge of the region/community of project implementation.
