Women in Pakistan continue to face significant health inequities across the life course. The maternal mortality ratio remains approximately 155 deaths per 100,000 live births, and many women lack consistent antenatal, mental health, and preventive care. Breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer among women in Pakistan, and cervical cancer is often detected at advanced stages due to limited routine screening.

IRD’s Women’s Health Program strengthens prevention, early detection, and continuity of care through integrated, community-centered models. By embedding maternal mental health support within antenatal services and expanding breast and cervical cancer screening through community outreach and referral networks, the program improves timely access to care for underserved women.

Through digital tracking, structured referrals, and community engagement, IRD advances equitable, scalable women’s health services across Pakistan.
