JOb Purpose

The incumbent will be responsible to lead TB Research Project.  She/he will serve as the technical lead and provide overall guidance, planning, protocols and implementing the research activates aimed at fulfilling the TB Research strategy.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide overall planning, implementation, technical, and management responsibility for TB research activities.
  • Become familiarized with the materials and tools from the operational research protocol.
  • Development of concepts and solutions for TB research and service delivery strategies, policies and operational frameworks by coordinating with TB programs and stakeholders.
  • Strengthen technical knowledge and experience in the management of TB research programs.
  • Provide guidance and expert advice on implementation of new or emerging TB research and service delivery initiatives.
  • Establish collaborative working relationship with key TB stakeholders in the country, sharing lessons learned and best practices gained from the project.
  • Research, design and evaluate materials, assemblies, processes and equipment.
  • Organize and support data collection.
  • Validate data received from studies.
  • Systematically analyze research data, and document all phases of research and development.
  • Supports a staff training/development program to enhance the capacity of the Country team for smooth implementation of the research projects.
  • Perform other duties assign by the supervisor.
  • Ensure the confidentiality of the study participants and data collected will be maintained.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES (KSA)

Required Qualification

  • Master’s Degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, or any relevant fields. Candidates having Ph.D will get preference.

Required Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in public health research and implementing and/or providing technical assistance on donor funded projects and in the design and implementation of TB or relevant projects.
  • At least 3 years’ supervisory and program management experience.

Required Skills

  • Good proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point Presentation.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a multi-cultural and multi-disciplinary team.
  • Fluency in oral and written in English.
  • Advance writing skills to produce high quality scientific research report, protocol and journal papers.
  • Handle multiple tasks effectively to meet deadlines and strong organizational skills and attention.
  • Ability to undertake both qualitative and quantitative research.
  • Advance analytical skills with good proficiency in data analysis software – SPSS, STAT, Epi-info, NVivo etc.
  • Ability to work independently.
